I was testing the Eway Payment out, I deliberitley put a incorrect CVN number in AND it still got Processed?? WHY??

This is the Eway Live not Eway Beagle.

It seems you have it setup without CVN YOU should have it setup with CVN. You can have it with CVN and thats what it should be.

Also with the CVN which is what it is called not Verification Number as you have on the Pay Out Page which confuses customers. Also it is only 3 numbers but you are allowed to put more than 3 characters in, you need to limit the input to 3 characters.

Also it would be a idea to place text stating where and what the CVN is as first time customers have no idea or a image of a back of a card with the 3 numbers to use circled in red which is what most Online stores have. you would probably find a image to use online.

The above really needs to be fixed ASAP.

We have setup it with CVN, https://www.eway.com.au/gateway_cvn/xmlpayment.asp

Probably need talk to eway to find out why CVN is not validated.

CVN (Sometimes referred to CVC, CVC2, CVV or CVV2), We name it as "Verification Number" and some site call it security number. We'll add some information to explain this code.

Amex Card has 4 characters CVN

Will add some more information to explain CVN in future release, something like http://www.alive24.com/cvc.htm

Also, According to Eway, I quote:

Quote:
Not all banks currently check the CVN - an incorrect CVN may be entered and the transaction may still be processed successfully. However if a CVN is entered and the transaction does fail this means that the CVN entered may be incorrect and should act as a warning for you when dealing with the customer.

Please refer to http://www.eway.com.au/Support/Payments ... meCVN.aspx

At the moment, we are contacting Eway for classification.

We've received the feedback from eWay:

In regards to your enquiry about CVN checking, unfortunately not all of the banks do verify that the CVN is correct and will approve the transaction even if an incorrect one is passed.

Well that pretty bloody stupid althoough the 4 major banks do as we asked them which would account for 90% of credit card transactions.

I run a test with my CC which is Commonwealth which does check CVN and it went through with a incoorect cvn. I am having Eway check there logs.

Yep forgot Amex thought don't allow it as the charges are too extreme. I have had customers put more than 4 numbers in so only allow 4 characters. We have had numerous people call us asking what the verification number is and we explained its the CVN which they all new what was so CVN is more commonly known.

Although must admit our thoughts here are beginning to think offline/manual transaction are a safer bet although more time consuming.

Will change it so that
1. max 4 characters are allowed
2. Verification Code(CVN) as title
3. Link to the Explaination of CVN
